The Underground Railroad

Cora is a slave on a cotton plantation in the southern state of Georgia. Life is hell for all slaves, but particularly difficult for Cora. Abandoned by her mother, she grows up in the midst of the most difficult loneliness, that of those who are marginalized by their peers. When Caesar, a young slave who has just arrived from the neighboring state of Virginia, tells him about the underground road, the two decide to take a fatal risk and flee the plantation, heading to the North and Freedom. On that foreboding dawn, a bloody escape begins, an odyssey of hope and disappointment.
